Twitter Card Generator
Generate Twitter Card meta tags with summary and large image card previews.
Build the meta tags that control how a link looks when shared.
Open Graph is the set of meta tags that decides what appears when someone pastes your link into a chat, a post or a message. Without them, platforms guess, and the guess is often the first image on the page and a sentence from the navigation.
The tool builds the four required tags, og:title, og:type, og:image and og:url, plus the ones that matter in practice: description, site name, locale, and the image dimensions and alt text. A live preview draws the card the way a feed would, so you can see whether your title survives at the width these cards actually use, which is narrower than a search result.
The image is where most previews go wrong. Platforms want a landscape image around 1200 by 630 pixels, and they want an absolute URL, not a relative path. A relative og:image is the single most common reason a preview shows no picture at all.
The open graph generator is used by writers, developers, students, marketers and anyone else who needs the job done once without installing software. Common cases include:
The specification requires og:title, og:type, og:image and og:url. In practice og:description matters almost as much, because without it platforms fall back to the meta description or to whatever text they find first.
1200 by 630 pixels is the widely supported landscape size and gives a large card on most platforms. Keep the file under about 5 MB, and make sure the URL is absolute, beginning with https.
Almost always a relative og:image URL, an image behind a login, or a platform cache holding an older version of the page. Platforms cache previews aggressively, so test with their own debugging tool after changing tags.
X falls back to Open Graph for most fields, so a page with good OG tags previews acceptably. Adding the Twitter-specific tags gives you control over the card type, which is why the separate generator exists.
No. These tags are read by social platforms and messaging apps, not by search engines for ranking. They affect how many people click a shared link, which is a different and still valuable thing.
