Frequently asked questions
What the tools do, what happens to your data, and how to get in touch.
Answers to the questions we are asked most. If yours is not here, the contact page will reach us.
Are FreeToolsWorld tools free?
Yes, all 136 of them. There is no paid tier, no trial, no usage limit and no feature held back behind a sign-up. The site is supported by advertising, which is why you will see clearly marked advertisement areas on some pages.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There is no registration, no login and no email capture anywhere on the site. Open a tool and start using it.
Are the tools available on mobile?
Yes. Every page is responsive and every tool interface has been built to stay usable on a phone screen, including the ones with tables, which scroll sideways rather than squashing.
Do you store my data?
Almost every tool processes your input inside your own browser using JavaScript, so the text, numbers or images you work with never reach us. The only thing kept on your device is your light or dark theme choice, saved in local storage so the site remembers it next time. Generated passwords are never stored.
Can I use the tools for commercial work?
Yes. Whatever you produce with the tools is yours to use in personal, academic or commercial projects, with no attribution required. The terms of use set this out in full.
How accurate are the calculators?
They apply standard published formulas and are accurate to the inputs you give them. What they cannot do is account for your circumstances. The loan and compound interest calculators exclude fees, tax and inflation, and the BMI calculator is a general screening figure rather than a health assessment.
Why does a tool say my input is invalid?
Each tool validates what it is given and explains the problem in plain language, usually naming the line or character that caused it. Invalid JSON, a malformed HEX colour and a broken percent escape all produce a specific message rather than a generic failure.
Do the tools work offline?
Once a tool page has loaded, the browser-based tools keep working even if the connection drops, because all the processing code is already in the page. Loading a different tool page does need the network.
Which browsers are supported?
Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop and mobile. A few tools rely on newer browser features, such as WebP export in the image compressor, which older browsers may not offer.
How can I suggest a new tool?
Through the contact page. Describe the job you need done rather than the interface you imagine, and say how often you run into it. Tools that solve a common, well-defined problem and can run client-side are the ones most likely to be built.
Did you find a mistake?
Please report it. Tell us the tool, the input you used, the result you got and the result you expected. Incorrect output is treated as the highest priority problem on the site.
Can I link to a tool from my own site?
Yes, and no permission is needed. Link straight to the tool page, for example the word counter at /tools/word-counter/, so people land on the thing they came for.
