What this site collects, what it does not, and why most tools never send your data anywhere.

This policy explains what FreeToolsWorld does and does not collect when you use the site. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past, so it is shorter and plainer than most.
The short version
The tools on this site process your input inside your own browser. Text you paste, images you select, colours you pick and numbers you enter are handled by JavaScript running on your device and are not transmitted to us. We do not ask for an account and we do not collect an email address unless you choose to send us one.
Tools that process data locally
Every tool currently on FreeToolsWorld runs client-side. In practical terms:
- Text entered into the word counter, character counter, case converter, slug converter, duplicate line remover, text sorter, reverser and cleaner stays in the page.
- JSON pasted into the formatter and minifier is parsed by your browser's own JSON parser. It is never evaluated as code and never uploaded.
- Base64, URL and HTML encoding and decoding all happen locally.
- Images selected in the Image Compressor are processed locally in your browser and are not uploaded to our servers. The compressed file is created on your device and downloaded straight from it.
- QR codes are generated in your browser. The content you encode is not sent to any service, and the resulting code does not route through a redirect that could track scans.
- Passwords from the Password Generator are created using your browser's cryptographic random number generator. They are never stored, logged or transmitted, and they are gone when you close the tab.
What is stored on your device
We use local storage for one thing: your light or dark theme preference, saved under the key
ftw-theme so the site looks the way you left it. It contains no personal information and can
be cleared at any time through your browser's site data settings. We do not set cookies of our own for
tracking or advertising.
Server logs
Like any website, the server that delivers these pages records standard request information, which can include your IP address, the page requested, the time, your browser type and the referring page. This is used to keep the site running and to understand which tools are used. It is not combined with anything you type into a tool, because what you type never reaches the server.
Advertising
This site carries advertising, shown in the clearly marked areas on some pages. Advertising networks may set their own cookies or use similar technologies to measure and target ads, in line with their own privacy policies, which we do not control. If you have been served ads by Google, their practices are described at Google's advertising policy page, and you can manage personalisation in your Google account settings. Depending on where you live, a consent banner may appear before any advertising cookies are set.
Third-party services
We keep these to a minimum. The site uses no web fonts from third-party servers, no analytics libraries loaded from other domains, and no social media widgets. If that changes, this section will be updated to name the service and what it receives.
Children
The site is a general-purpose set of utilities and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Your choices
- Clear the stored theme preference through your browser's site data settings at any time.
- Use the site with JavaScript disabled to read the explanatory content, though the tools themselves need JavaScript to run.
- Email us at hello@freetoolsworld.com with any question about this policy, including a request to delete an email you previously sent us.
Changes to this policy
If the way the site handles data changes, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be described here rather than quietly edited in.
