Health tools
The BMI Calculator performs a published arithmetic formula and nothing more. Body mass index is a crude population-level screening figure. It cannot measure body composition, fitness, or health, it does not account for muscle mass, age or ancestry, and it does not apply to children. Nothing it produces is a diagnosis. Speak to a doctor or another qualified healthcare professional about any question concerning your weight or your health, and never delay seeking medical advice because of something you read here.
Financial tools
The Loan Calculator, the Compound Interest Calculator, the Discount Calculator and the Percentage Calculator apply standard formulas to the numbers you enter. They exclude fees, taxes, inflation and any variation in rates over time, and they know nothing about your circumstances. They are not financial advice, not an offer, and not a quotation. Speak to a qualified financial adviser or to the lender itself before making a borrowing or investment decision.
Security tools
The Password Generator uses your browser's cryptographic random number generator and stores nothing. Even so, the security of a password depends on how it is stored and used after it leaves this page. Base64 and URL encoding are not encryption and provide no protection whatsoever; anything encoded with them can be read by anyone.
Accuracy
We test these tools and treat incorrect output as a serious problem, but no guarantee is made that every result is correct in every case. Verify anything that matters, especially before publishing it, submitting it or basing a decision on it. If you find an error, please tell us.
