Percentage Calculator
Three calculators: percent of a number, what percent one number is, and change.
Find the sale price, the amount saved and the total with tax.
Applied after the discount. Use 0 to skip.
Discount Calculator answers the question a shop sign leaves open: what will this actually cost. Enter the original price and the discount percentage and you get the amount saved and the price you will pay, both rounded to two decimal places.
Sales tax can be added on top, which matters in places where displayed prices exclude tax. The breakdown shows each stage separately: original price, discount applied, subtotal, tax added, and final total. Seeing the stages makes it obvious whether a quoted total already includes tax or not.
A second mode works the other way round. If you know the original and the sale price but not the percentage, enter both and the tool tells you what discount that represents. It is a quick way to check whether an advertised saving is as large as it sounds.
The discount calculator is used by writers, developers, students, marketers and anyone else who needs the job done once without installing software. Common cases include:
After, which is the normal rule in most places: you are taxed on what you actually pay, not on the pre-discount price. The breakdown shows the order so you can check it against your local practice.
Apply them one after another rather than adding the percentages. Thirty percent off followed by twenty percent off is a 44 percent total reduction, not 50 percent, because the second discount applies to the already reduced price.
It takes the original and the sale price and tells you the discount percentage between them. Useful when a sign shows two prices but no percentage, or when you want to verify a claimed saving.
Use the Percentage Calculator for that. This tool is built around reductions, where the percentage is subtracted from the original price.
No. Only the item price, the discount and the optional tax are included. Add delivery charges separately, as they are usually not discounted.
None in particular. The calculator works with plain numbers, so the result is correct in whatever currency you are thinking in.
If the discount calculator is not quite what you need, these other free tools solve closely related problems.
