Reversed text is not encryption. Anyone can read it by reversing it again, so never use it to hide passwords or personal data.

About the Text Reverser

Text Reverser flips text at whichever level you need. Character mode writes the whole string backwards, so hello becomes olleh. Word mode keeps each word intact but reverses their order within every line. Line mode leaves words and characters alone and reverses the order of the lines themselves, which is the quickest way to flip a chronological log.

Character reversal is done with awareness of Unicode so that accented characters and most emoji survive the trip intact rather than splitting into broken fragments. Word reversal splits on whitespace and rejoins with single spaces.

Reversing text is used for puzzles and word games, for checking palindromes, for flipping a list that arrived in the wrong direction, and occasionally for quick obfuscation of a string that should not be readable at a glance. It is not encryption and provides no security.

Frequently asked questions

Does reversing break emoji or accented letters?

No. Reversal works on whole characters rather than raw code units, so accented letters and most emoji come through unchanged. A few complex emoji built from several joined parts may still separate.

What is the difference between word mode and line mode?

Word mode reverses the order of words inside each line while keeping the lines themselves in place. Line mode keeps every line exactly as written but puts the last line first.

Can I use reversed text to hide information?

Only from a casual glance. Reversed text is trivially readable by anyone who reverses it again, so never use it to protect passwords, keys or personal data.

Does reversal preserve punctuation?

Punctuation characters are reversed along with everything else in character mode. In word and line modes punctuation stays attached to the word it belongs to.

Will it reverse right-to-left scripts correctly?

Character order is reversed as stored, but scripts such as Arabic and Hebrew are displayed by the browser using its own bidirectional rules, so the visual result may not look the way you expect.

Is there a length limit?

No. The work is done locally and handles long documents without trouble.
